Recommendation to wear face masks remains, higher education internships may now resume

The recommendation to wear a face mask in all public areas remains until 18 November, after which the situation will be reassessed. Internships from universities and classroom teaching in other schools of higher education will resume from 2 November. Restrictions on gatherings of more than 10 people remain in effect until 30 November as a result of an earlier decision from the Regional State Administrative Agencies (AVI). On Friday, the Corona Coordination Working Group will assess the continuation of a similar recommendation for private events.

Vaasa Hospital District appeals to Regional State Administrative Agencies (AVI): Ban gatherings of more than 10 people in Vaasa Hospital District

The Ostrobothnia Corona Coordination Group (Pohjanmaan koronakoordinaatioryhmä) made strong recommendations not to hold private gatherings of more than 10 people and also called upon AVI to ban public events and general meetings of more than 10 people. In addition, it has been recommended that the elderly and at-risk groups be protected by arranging so that visits to elderly care homes take place in the person's own room.

Vaasa Hospital District sends strong recommendation: Do not arrange or participate in gatherings of more than 50 people

On Tuesday afternoon, 6 October, the hospital district issued new recommendations for the Ostrobothnia region. A strong new recommendation is that no events for more than 50 people be held throughout Ostrobothnia until 25 October. As autumn holidays approach, citizens are also reminded to limit social contacts, stay at home, and avoid travelling.

Epidemic continues to accelerate in Vaasa Hospital District, - check out the new recommendations

On Sunday, the hospital district issued new recommendations regarding, among other things, that institutions of higher education switch to distance learning for two weeks. In addition, it is important to remember to wear face masks and maintain adequate social distancing measures. It is best to remain at home, even if the symptoms are only minor.
