From Saturday 27 November, Vaasa Hospital District will place new restrictions on indoor public gatherings. Restrictions are valid for three weeks. All indoor public events with more than 100 participants, auditoriums where seating is not provided for everyone, or joint singing events, are banned in the municipalities of Ostrobothnia.

The coronavirus shows no signs of abating in Ostrobothnia. Over the past week, a total of 122 new positive cases of infection were detected in the region. People with symptoms should go for a low threshold coronavirus test even if they have received two doses of vaccine. The virus situation in Ostrobothnia remains bad, although it appears to have receded slightly when compared to previous weeks. The face mask recommendation was extended in Ostrobothnia until the end of November, based on the bad situation in the region. The recommendation applies to anyone over 12 years of age.
