Vaasa Central Hospital has made the decision to allow visits to the maternity unit, with certain restrictions, as of 1 June 2020. This ruling is in accordance with new national guidelines.
Good news for expectant mothers living in Vaasa Hospital District: an asymptomatic birth partner or a support person who has not been abroad or exposed to the coronavirus during the previous 14 days can participate in postnatal care in the maternity unit of Vaasa Central Hospital from 1 June 2020.
- The use of family rooms is possible and if they are not available, then the birth partner or a support person can visit the ward on agreement. However, restrictions will be reinstated as needed if the number of coronavirus infections in our area increases, says Kaisa Muikku, ward nurse at the maternity unit.
